Upholstery Cleaning

Your furniture is one of the most used — and most visible — parts of your home. Over time, dirt, body oils, spills, and everyday wear can leave upholstery looking dull and feeling worn.

Upholstery Furniture Cleaning

Upholstered furniture offers customers many outstanding pieces, using a wide range of fiber types, construction, colors, and finishes. Continual changes occur in the furniture field, so when looking for a new piece assess the fabric as some fibers are easier to clean while others are designed more for the initial look. While viscose is still made in a few countries, it has not been proven to be reliably a great cleaning fiber.

Fibercare is proud to be IICRC certified in Upholstery and Textile cleaning. With care over the years, upholstered furniture can be enjoyed longer before reupholstering or buying a new piece.

Upholstery Cleaning

The difference between the soiling characteristics of upholstery fabrics and carpet fibers, both from the standpoint of construction and usage is obvious. Upholstery offers no place for soil to “hide”. Furniture is also subjected to a different set of soiling conditions than carpeting, mainly body oils, which if not cared for under a preventative care system, can cause discoloration in a short period of time and may even develop into a non-restorable condition. For this reason, normal cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months, depending on usage and other factors.

Upholstery fabrics present a much wider range of fiber types, construction, colorfastness and shrinkage factors than carpet fibers.

New fibers, finishes, and colors are constantly being introduced in the furniture industry, making it increasingly important for a skilled and confident professional to handle the cleaning.

Fibercare is proud to be experienced and IICRC certified in Upholstery and Textile Cleaning.
